Researching the Andorra 2021 stamps (Fr) was an easy task. La Posta offers useful details, including photographers/artists/designers. I wish more post offices were as diligent as France’s La Posta is. They promote their artists and really push quality information out with each stamp.  

Andorra (Fr) stamps offers a bit of history and nature for 2021. The March 20 Prisunic stamp is a great example of Andorran artistry. Judit Gaset Flinch’s styling is described as “[intermingling] several styles for this visual, A figurative interpretation of the building, and a more allegorical background landscape, consisting of an entanglement of the letters PRISUNI and C, These same letters illustrate the outline of the leaf.” (La Posta)

It’s a strong, visual that makes the stamp a standout. In the past, I gravitated towards older stamps with what could be considered a traditional design from the pre-1940s era. Since starting this project, I’ve discovered I enjoy a much more modern interpretation of events and structures. I’ve been a bit surprised by this. If you had asked me what I think about this stamp 30 years ago, I’d have turned my nose up at it because I had blinders on about what makes a good stamp design. The new generation of designers are more challenging, offering me a chance to linger over the stamps. I blow them up super sized and slowly scroll around each one. I think this is why I loved this stamp. Don’t ask me to explain more. I’m not sure why my tastes have altered so much. But I suspect it has to do with the passage of time. My brain enjoys being challenged more now than it did in my youth. Judit Gaset Flinch is now top of my list of artists to explore.
