CAPEX22 – I’m going, are you?

by | Jun 8, 2022

It’s time for CAPEX22! Yes, finally, CAPEX returns to Toronto, and this time at a location that is easy to get to.  And I’m soooo excited. (Tell me you’re a nerd without telling me you’re a nerd).

Details? This will be the 5th international stamp show since 1951, with the last one way back in 1996. The show will run from June 9, 2022 to June 12, 2022.  The second best part, aside from the prospect of being in stamp heaven for a few days, is it’s accessibility.  No long trips out into suburbia and all easily accessible via public transit.  It’ll be held downtown Toronto, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), which is an easy stroll from Union Station Go, train and subway.

If you have mobility issues, then you should be happy with the MTCC has lots of escalators and elevators. There should be plenty of seats around the venue as well.

If you are unfamiliar with Toronto be prepared for how be big, noisy and traffic mad it is downtown.  Oh and DON’T JAY WALK DOWNTOWN. Unless you want a visit to one of our lovely emergency rooms. And if you are sane DO NOT DRIVE DOWNTOWN. DON’T. Just … don’t. Take public transit if you can. It’s the saner option.

Their will be a diverse list of displays to enjoy:

  • aerophilately
  • astrophilately
  • maximaphily
  • modern philately
  • open philately
  • philatelic literature
  • picture postcards
  • postal history
  • postal stationery
  • revenue
  • thematic philately
  • traditional philately
  • youth philately

And don’t forget to pick up your souvenir sheets. I’m hoping to get down there soon enough to get some, but I might be tied up on the first day. I’ll let you know if I succeed.

  1. Hi this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have
to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!

    • Hey Olympus,
Happy to offer recommendations and maybe a bit of advice to a new blogger. What platform will you be using? I really recommend WordPress because it pretty much does all the hardwork and you can focus on just writing.
I use a plugin that gives me a WYSIWYG word processor, but occasionally I go into the code and make a few changes when needed. You can send me a direct email if you like via the contact form (in the navigation bar above) if you like. Be happy to answer your questions.

  2. Hi! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and
say I genuinely enjoy reading your articles. Can you suggest any other
blogs/websites/forums that cover the same topics? Many thanks!

    • I follow a number of great writers. I’ll pull together a list and post it here. Maybe I need a page of collectors I follow!
