Welcome to the Ivory Coast’s 2024 stamps! It’s a small program, with two releases. The post office issues 1-3 sets every year, so it’s a tiny one. This year, they starts with a set of elephants playing football. But then when your country is called the Ivory Coast, or Côte d’Ivoire, an elephant or two should be expected.
If you are interested in reading news about the Ivory Coast, one of the better sources is Al Jazeera. If you click Search | Al Jazeera the link will take you to the dozens of articles covering the past decade. I’m currently searching for a solid history of the country, if you have recommendations, drop them in the comments.
The Ivory Coast post office has embraced the new NFT stamps, releasing their first set on, Historic Serie 1, on February 1, 2022. No NFTs were released for 2024, which was a bit disappointing. They did a good job presenting the new NFTs as a retrospective of earlier releases.
At this point in time, I’m still investigating the artists and designers, so details may feel a bit sparse, but as time goes on, gaps will be filled.
In the meantime, enjoy.
