I stopped using One Shot app for windows phone app on my old phone because it caused it to seriously over-heat. Well, new phone and I’m giving it another try. So far, so good. I used it extensively on my trip down to McCaul St. and the phone stayed cool throughout the afternoon.
I need to spend time on the extensive settings the app offers, but today, I left it on auto and let the camera make the decisions. I chose a fun little mural along the bottom of Above Ground Art store in Toronto, to play with. Here’s the first shot:
Love the art work, and the scottie dog looks none to thrilled being in the boat. He looks a wee bit dour. The photo’s colours came out bright and crisp, a good reflection on the actual colours. This shot was far better than the one without the app. I didn’t even bother keeping it. The sun was so intense down there, I had a difficult time getting a good shot without the photo being flooded with light. One Shot compensated for it and the photos came out balanced. The next shot was full auto as well. The colours are spot on. I didn’t do anything but a bit of cropping.
I’m pleased with the results, happier the phone doesn’t overheat. I’ll sit down in the next little while and try to figure out what all the settings are – I’m crap with stuff like fstop and ISO. So I’ll keep you posted on how I do.
