Bénin 2021’s 2 stamp offering

Bénin issued two commemorative stamps December 30, 2021, in a special ceremony attended by Director General of La Poste du Bénin, Professor Judith Glidja. The joint release ceremony was titled HEALTH STAFF AND PEACE APOSTLE GANDHI CELEBRATED. During the ceremony, Glidja unveiled a poster sized version of the Covid stamp, and I wonder where it is hanging. It would be an interesting addition to any collection. These two sets represent the complete 2021 program from Bénin.

Official release ceremony of HEALTH STAFF AND PEACE APOSTLE GANDHI CELEBRATED stamps. December 30, 2021

As is typical with so many post offices around the world, no mention is made of the designers behind the stamps. I scoured both the stamps themselves and press releases for any indication, but alas, nothing was evident. Such is the life of a stamp writer.

The first stamps are a thank you to health care workers who laboured though out the pandemic. The same design was used on 5 seperate stamps, with only the value different. The second is a tribute to Gandhi, again using the same image, but varying the design with a different colour coating and value. And that’s it for the year – 2 stamps with a couple of souvenir sheets to grab to complete the year.
