Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller, aka Agatha Christie was born September 15, 1890.

Although there are more than 80 stamps devoted to the Queen of Crime, the Isle of Man issued one of the best. It was released in 2006 as part of their 8 stamp National Portrait series. The stamps were designed by The Agency, ltd. 

 

The stamp featured John Gay’s photograph of Christie that is held by the National Portrait Gallery. The photograph was originally published in 1947 and was part of literary personality portraits Gay took during the mid to late 1940s while he worked for Strand magazine.
