Dr Who’s greatest archenemy born

On March 1, 1918, Roger Delgado, the original Master was born.

There have been many who have filled Roger Delgado’s shoes since his death in 1973, but he will always be the 1st and original Master. His portrayal of this now iconic Dr Who villain was one of the highlights of the Jon Pertwee era. 

In total, he appeared in 8 Dr Who stories between his first appearance in 1971 to 1973:

  • Terror of the Autons
  • The Mind of Evil
  • The Claws of Axos
  • Colony in Space
  • The Dæmons
  • The Sea Devils
  • The Time Monster
  • Frontier in Space

Sci Fi fans should look up his performance in one of the Quatermass episodes: Quatermass II, 1955, episode 4 “The Coming”. Occasionally you can find the series on YouTube.
