Romanian pioneer aviator Aurel Vlaicu was killed September 13, 1913 when his A. Vlaicu Nr. II aircraft crashed.
Designed and flew Romanian’s first aircraft on June 17, 1910.
Vlaicu also built the world’s first metal airplane.
