Any specialist in wildlife on stamps should be familiar with the beauty of Guernsey stamps. They often show off the diverse flora and fauna from the island. This year’s Europa theme “Endangered Wildlife”, is the highlight of the 2021 stamp program. Another don’t miss stamp is the C. Sarah Elizabeth Clematis, painted by artist Gillian Barlow. Plenty for thematic specialists to look forward to.
Guernsey stamps will also include a 17 definitive set of birds native to the islands, a 6 stamp series about Sark Island and a 4 part series honouring the Royal British Legion at 100. Another set to examine closely is Guernsey Post’s Lunar New Year stamps. It is the latest in the cycle created by Chrissy Lau, a British born designer who now resides in Australia. She designs for both Guernsey and Australia Post. Don’t forget to check out her Christmas Island Lunar New year stamps from this year (link can be found in the Jan stamps). Same theme but very different designs.
