The Guernsey 2023 stamp program has 14 sets laid out, including another thematic “quartet series”. I doubt it will be possible to top last year’s Heart of the Forest series by artist Gail Armstrong. It was worth the wait to see the entire set on a single sheet. The Guernsey 2023 stamp program has 14 sets laid out, including another thematic “quartet series”.
The [Love Paper] campaign highlights how the paper industry depends on sustainable forest management to provide a reliable supply of wood fibre, the key raw material for paper products. It advocates that sustainable forest management plays an important role in conserving biodiversity and eco systems. Heart of the Forest, part one of the 2022 quartet series (guernseystamps.com)
While Alderney will be saying hello to the new King, Guernsey will say a last good bye to the Queen with a February celebration of Queen Elizbeth’s life. The set includes a pair of se-tenant stamps highlighting 4 royal visits to the island. This year will also see EUROPA and SEPAC stamps, as well as Christmas and Lunar New Year sets. Australian based artist Chrissy Lau returns to start 2023 with her distinctive artwork for Guernsey’s Year of the Rabbit.

Designer: Jake Coates
Jake Coates was a brilliant choice for these canine illustrations. He works mostly with coloured pencil and occasionally pastels. His portfolio includes number of dogs – although I did see a few cat images squeezed in among the woofers.
Although he started out his career as an emergency doctor, after a catastrophic loss, he gravitated towards artwork after leaving the medical field. Coates now works full time as an artist, specialising in pets, wild life and the child portraits. He counts himself lucky to be able to pursue his passion full time. But seriously Jake, you need more cat illustrations to balance out that dog imbalance. ABOUT | Jake Coates Art
