Hopefully, Kyrgyz Republic stamps 2021 will be as beautiful and amusing as they were last year. Their 2020 Covid stamp was the best I saw last year. It was stiff competition between the Austrian toilet paper sheet (read about it here Austrian Stamp, 2020 & A Sense Of Humour) and the Kyrgyzstan snow leopard doing his best Gandalf “you will not pass” impression with the Covid virus, but you know where my heart will always go. How could you not fall in love with this?
Seriously, what’s not to love?
Since starting this project to document as many stamps from around the world as I could, I’ve had fun exploring countries I’ve never considered. It’s easy to get philately tunnel vision and focus solely on the area you collect and not stop to enjoy the beauty of other country’s little, exquisite works of art.

The list for 2021 doesn’t include official artwork or release dates, so I’ll have to check back frequently to track them. I am interested in seeing the Saimaluu-Tash Petroglyphs. Saimaluu-Tash translates roughly to patterned or embroidered stones and is home to over 10,000 petroglyphs. It should appear sometime in the early spring.
Although there are only 3 images to view (at the time of posting this article), I’m still looking forward the Kyrgyz Republic 2021 stamps as they come out. I’ve been looking through previous year and have grown to love their designers. I was pleased to see both artists and designers are credited in the stamp notes on each of last year’s releases, so it will be easy to add that information as it appears.

The Pamir Highway

The highway follows along part of the ancient Silk Road.
The Pamir Highway is a high-altitude road with a length of more than 1,200 km, connecting the
capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, with the important regional center of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Osh. This
is the second highest highway not only in Central Asia, but in the whole world. Some of the highway’s
mountain passes are at an altitude of over 4,000 meters above sea level.
