Long overdue exploration of Malaysian stamps 2023

by | Mar 5, 2023

Well, darn, I don’t know why I haven’t explored Malaysian stamps before now. Given the intelligent design, and pure fun they offer, I feel negligent.  How could a person not love a post office that offers both a gorgeous cookware stamp & a notebook to covet.

And yes, I am going to get that notebook eventually. It’s just 20 shades of cool.

Malaysia Post isn’t afraid to employ unusual shapes in their souvenir sheet designs, which offers something a bit different for collectors. Their 2022 Tiger sheet is, in my opinion, one of the strongest souvenir sheets issued by Malaysia Post. It just nudged out the cookware set (also from 2022) above.  It was a tough choice between cookware & cats, but my loyalty will always be with a kickass cat stamp.

It exudes power, and danger. Whoever the artist is, they produced a beautiful tiger.  Malaysia also expanded into the NFT stamp world last year, with their eye-catching multi stamp release featuring every state and territory within the country.

I’m not sure if Malaysia will have a Crypto 2 set for 2023, so either subscribe below or bookmark our Crypto pages to keep up to date.

My only complaint about Malaysia Post is the lack of info on the artists and designers. I’d love to be able to add them to my designer spreadsheet so I can follow their design careers. But, the lack of details doesn’t dim my enjoyment. The artwork is worth collecting, the unusual shaped souvenir sheets will keep me coming back and the hope of seeing Malaysian foods served up on their stamps will keep me in happy anticipation.

I’ll go spelunking through my drafts and finish the previous two years worth of Malaysian stamps ASAP. Not sure why I’ve taken so long, expecially in light of the fact, I have the stamps lined up, and enjoy looking at them.  2023 starts with a big SQUEEE and more intriguing shapes for us, so don’t forget to sign up for my weekly newsletter, and leave a comment below about which Malaysian stamps you love the most. I do read the comments and love chatting with readers.

Cheers

Diversity is a strength.

For everyone hanging in there with me.

I want to thank everyone who has dropped me a note and still visited the site, despite the lack of fun content. It's been a bit of a hard slog on this end and the double vision really makes things a bit rough. However, it looks like a diagnosis is on the horizon which means treatment.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and write. If I get things a little wonky, just sigh with me. Its hard to take life seriously when everything is blurry and doubled.

Thank you. Thank you so much.
