Well, this was fun! Curaçao 2022 season started with 6 tigers for the Lunar New Year. Marcel van Duijneveldt, designer of last year’s Ox stamps, returned for the 6th time to create the country’s New Year releases.
So far, goats are the design winners for 2022. The portrait gallery of goat stamps have a Warhol-esque feel to them that just make you want to grin. If you can’t wait to see them, skip down to March. I’d love to see the artist, Mirjam Griffioen, take a stab at the Lunar New Year stamps. She would breathe an interesting life into the series.
The only issue I have with Curaçao’s post office is the lack of clear scans of their cancels. If I get my hands on good copies, I’ll post them. In the meantime, you’ll have to blow up the covers to see them.
Now, off to tigers, goats ‘n boats.
