After being unavailable for the past week, Ukraine post is back online. They were, once again, the victims of a DDOS attack that took the site off line.
Latest stamp “Ukrainian Dreams“
The latest press release reveals a new stamp was released June 28, 2022 to celebrate Constitution Day titled “Ukrainian Dreams”.
The design comes from 11 year old Sofia Kravchuk from Lyuboml, Volyn region. She was the winner of last year’s “What is Ukraine for me?” competition.
The children’s dream of the young artist Sofia Kravchuk about the happy future of Ukraine is connected with the winged “Dream”. In sofia’s picture, the largest and most powerful aircraft in the world AN-225 “Mriya” is decorated with pink flowers flying to the stars. Unfortunately, during the military operations on the territory of Ukraine, the legendary Ukrainian aircraft was destroyed. The enemy destroys Ukrainian equipment, destroys settlements, but he is not able to destroy the WILL and the desire of Ukrainians for freedom, he cannot destroy the Ukrainian dream. And the plane, we Ukrainians, will certainly rebuild and again welcome it to Kiev at the parade in honor of the Independence Day of Ukraine! Postcard “UKRAINIAN DREAM” (ukrposhta.ua)
It is available in sheets of 6 stamps, a postcard, cover and magnets.. You can also purchase it on a t-shirt and it’s a kick ass shirt! You can buy them here Ukrposhta Post market.
POST EUROPA 2023 – Peace is the highest value of mankind
Also announced is a new competition for Ukrainians. Ukrposhta is asking for entries to next year’s Europa competition. The theme was changed by Post Europe officials to “Peace is the highest value of mankind“. Post Europe also confirmed the suspension of Russia and Belarus from the union and they will not be allowed to participate in next year’s competition.
I’ll follow this story for deadlines and details.
New release coming – “Your own stamp”
I am not sure I’m translating this correctly, but it looks like Ukrposhta is set to release a framed stamp that will allow Ukrainians to insert their own images. Unfortunately, some of Ukrposhta’s news releases are done in jpg format, which means I can’t run them through a translator. I’m left to parse bits and pieces with my embarrassingly meager grasp of Ukrainian.
This stamp is set for July 5, 2022. I’m posting the press release here, which has images of the new framed stamp. Just click on the images to see all the details.
When it’s released on the 5th, I’ll return with details.
