If you’re a football fan, Qatar’s 2021 stamps are made to order. They will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the Qatar Post’s offerings reflect this. As of July, 3 stamp sets have been released with 2 dedicated to football. I expect next year will be all about the games.
This section is short on details. I found the Qatar Post site incredibly frustrating. FDCs, cancels, postcards and folders are available, but the Post website is pretty much useless when it comes to finding information and images. Worse still? Their newsletters are not dated, so everything they issued needs to be checked for timing.Â
The lack of details is a shame. The stamps are attractive and very topical. Qatar hasn’t flooded the market with an endless stream of stamps so, these would be good pickings for sports fans. I’m going to try and find quality images of the FDCs and postcards, but that may take quite a bit of time.Â
If anything is missing, drop a note and let me know. In the meantime, I’ll just muddle along and hope Qatar hires a librarian to show them how to organise information.
