Pitcairn postage stamps for 2021 are short & sweet. Only two sets, featuring QEII and Prince Philip, were issued. Normally, Pitcairn puts out between 5 and 6 sets but the pandemic threw the schedule to the winds. As well, the people who ran the Pitcairn Islands Philatelic Bureau for the last 16 year, retired September 2020. Louise and Russell Watson handed philatelic duties over to Tower Mint Limited of London, UK.Â
Tower Mint joined in celebrating QEII’s 95th and mourning the death of Prince Philip, common themes through the Commonwealth in 2021. Hopefully, they return to the usual interesting stamps that made Pitcairn so fun to watch.Â
