Stamps for Vietnam 2026 – the year is a mystery!

by | Feb 16, 2026

With the year nearly two months old, it’s time to put together a page devoted to the Vietnam 2026 stamp program.  Vietnam’s program is fun for a couple of reasons. The hunt for historical details coupled with Vietnamese artists means I look forward to leaping into the season every year. That may explain why it sometimes takes so long to post about Vietnam, I tend to jump about with wild abandon into stories, histories and bios from Vietnam.

This year will be different! I will get the posts up quicker. I will … oh who am I fooling? I’ll continue to grab a long shot of espresso, load it up with cardamom and just linger over Vietnam’s history and culture and make you wait while I indulge.

Three designers are standouts, Nguyễn Quang Vinh, who has designed the last few Lunar New Year stamps and Nguyễn Du, Tô Minh Trang and Lê Khánh. The last three were involved in creating one of the best stamp series, worldwide, the short lived Vietnamese folk tales. I’d love to see them return.

Just look at the colours used in this set. It’s gorgeous! A story told in a 4 small panels. I especially love the use of pinks to make the series pop. This was Nguyễn Du’s 2022 retelling of a classic Vietnamese folk tale – the Star Fruit Tree. It ranks as one of my top 10 favourite stamps. You simply can’t get better. I secretly (well, not so secretly now) covet a signed set by the designer.

What can we expect? It’s a mystery! I can usually find a listing of the upcoming program, but this year, I’ve come up empty handed. Guess we’ll have to wait and enjoy the surprises along with you.

Tết Nguyên Đán năm my friends.
